Excuse received from a Republican Legislator on unmarried benefits.

We received an excuse from Alaska Rep. Seaton (the guy who wears the fishermans cap for the camera who claims to supposedly be a Republican) regarding his failure to vote for us to have another voice on the same-sex State benefits issue.

Of course he made specific mention of those who have an opposition to such benefits on religious grounds.   Seaton at one point claimed to be taking a purely legal view, yet at another point said he was voting his conscience.  Hmm, politician and conscience, two words not often seen in the same sentence..

Oddly enough, this issue has already been embraced, after a fashion, by another group with strong religious ties. (Well at least governmentally approved religious ties)..

In other parts of the US and Europe, Islamic movement members have already latched onto this benefits for non-married couples idea.
Not for same sex couples, since Muslim law forbids that with a death penalty (although those of us who have been to the middle-east have witnessed differently), but instead as a legal platform to obtain State and welfare benefits rights via polygamy.  It would seem that many of these new-age Islamic types think that not only should women be inferior, but that men should have more than one inferior wife.

Of course that was illegal in the US, Canada and Europe until the homosexual movement opened the door for benefits being extended to anyone who cannot legally marry.  Since almost all of the US, Canadian and European based terrorist came from a welfare background, it is easy to see the long term planning.  Employment would no doubt get in the way of planning the next Jihad.

What a great way to increase to strain on the taxpayers and the already overburdened State retirement system.

Representative Seaton sure has helped us out on this one....
